The Gathering Collaborative (TGC) is a group of trusted community members who are involved to uplift Black and Indigenous people and their communities – those who are most directly harmed by racism.

The members largely reflect these communities and have lived experience in these communities that they serve. TGC members meet monthly to address issues that impact the lives of Black and Indigenous people.

One of the main goals of The Gathering Collaborative is to equitably distribute $25 million in investments to community service providers – non-profit organizations, grassroot organizations with fiscal sponsors, and for-profit businesses – to support their growth and entrepreneurship in repairing the deep harms of racism worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic, and bring healing, social and emotional stability, well-being, and restoration for Black and Indigenous people and their communities so that all People of Color and all communities across King County thrive.

King County Revive & Thrive Strategic Communications Campaign

The Professional Women of Color Network Seattle Chapter is partnering with the King County Office of Equity & Social Justice (OESJ)

The COVID-19 pandemic left large portions of our regional economy and workers devastated, compounding existing inequities that our most vulnerable communities have faced for decades.

As we know,  Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC communities), women, and individuals with no formal higher education have been disproportionately impacted. This economic fallout will impact our region for years to come.

King County is partnering with and providing resources to community-based organizations such as PWOCN that are rooted in serving BIPOC communities across the County.

The goal is to improve trust, ensure engagement is equitable and community-driven, and inform our community about how COVID funding was spent and awareness of available programs.
